Time to Tell, Junction Mall at Nungua Barrier

April 2017, Nungua Barrier ,Tema Accra.

My second solo exhibition and a public intervention , where I arrest a public but busy space in my town with dead woods which I collect from the sea and Tema community but feed to termites in  my studio and back yard. The outdated newspaper on the wood serves as food and shelter for termites and to also reexamine our relationship with these organisms in our environment. It also restages the story and headlines of the newspaper to the audience who relate to this past information. The installation also challenges the public on how they relate to objects in a particular moment in space.

Hidden from View, at James fort prison

August  2017, (Wata Mata) James fort prison and Brazil house Jamestown Accra.

Installation at Chale Wote street art festival, transported from the Volta region of Ghana to the capital Accra are logs collected from  river and communities at my area feed to termites in my studio space. As a collaboration with termites I employed the use of an outdated newspaper to serve as shelter and food for the termite who lived inside the wood constantly carving into them. At the same time  packaging together hidden memories and histories embedded in the wood which are obscure from judging eyes.
