September 2016, South Tongu District Sogakope.
Dead wood collected from river Tordzi in the Volta region of Ghana and households left at the mercy of termites in my working space. This was my first solo exhibition and I was interested in the scar holes carved on the wood by fish, aquatic animals , human activities and nature as the wood spent many years going through this process. Also bearing witness to moments in a specific time which are memories and histories embedded in these woods . This exhibition is to allow my community and students to reflect and interact with this material in our environment and how they relate to them.
